TREASURER

Erwin Jaloway came from his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas where he had his initial involvement with music. In junior high school, he played trumpet and some bass tuba including performing in the Buccaneer Days Parade. Later on, in the Catholic Seminary he became somewhat proficient in choir activities performing both 4 part harmony pieces as well as singing Gregorian Chant. The highlight of his actives included studies at the Manhatanville School of Music in New York City. Later he participated with the Del Mar Chorale in Corpus Christi (singing baritone). The chorale joined with the Mexico City Symphony in Mexico City and performed the Hallelujah Chorus.

Jaloway has his master’s degree in management and finance from De Paul University in Chicago and worked for over 40 years in the Mental Health and Mental Retardation system in Texas. During this period he participated with the Floresville Village Band where he took up the trumpet again. In later years, he re-joined with what now is called the County Line Community Band playing both euphonium and baritone horn. Jaloway currently holds the position of treasurer for the band.
